Meet the Team

Josh and Charity Birkey

Josh and Charity have spent the last 11 years serving as youth pastors in Chattanooga and Nashville TN and now are excited to start NewPath in Murfreesboro. Here is their story…

In 2013, God placed a burden on their hearts to church plant, not knowing the time or location. They continued to pray knowing God would open the door when it was His timing. God closed all the doors to start a church. 

In 2017, God opened the door for them to be a student pastor in Nashville, TN. After 6 months of serving at the church, their 2 year old son (Alec) passed away suddenly. They knew God led them to Nashville for a reason. 

With church planting still on their hearts, they continued to pray. In 2023, after being a in ministry for 11 years, God opened the door to start a church in the largest suburb of Nashville, Murfreesboro, TN. Their dreams are now becoming reality and they are excited to see what God is going to do!

We are seeking churches, couples and individuals who will be a monthly partner with us over the next 3 years to help us launch NewPath Church.

Funding for NewPath Church is a 3 year plan. 1 year of pre-launch and the first 2 years of the church. That total number is $300,000. Give online via the donate tab.

  • We would love you to be a part or our prayer team who commits to praying for us daily. You will have an opportunity to see first hand life change stories and hear what God is doing as we launch a new church in Nashville.

  • Your support helps make it possible for people to find a new path in Christ. God has blessed you financially to be able to give, to see Jesus' light shine in the community. The best way to join the mission is as a monthly partner, prayerfully considering your capacity to join us.
