Josh and Charity Birkey
Josh and Charity have spent the last 11 years serving as youth pastors in Chattanooga and Nashville TN and now are excited to start NewPath in Murfreesboro. Here is their story…
In 2013, God placed a burden on their hearts to church plant, not knowing the time or location. They continued to pray knowing God would open the door when it was His timing. God closed all the doors to start a church.
In 2017, God opened the door for them to be a student pastor in Nashville, TN. After 6 months of serving at the church, their 2 year old son (Alec) passed away suddenly. They knew God led them to Nashville for a reason.
With church planting still on their hearts, they continued to pray. And after being a in ministry for 11 years, God opened the door to start a church in the largest suburb of Nashville, Murfreesboro, TN. Their dreams are now becoming reality and they are excited to see what God is going to do!
Community Appreciation Sunday Jan 25th @ 10a!
We are so excited to celebrate and appreciate the Murfreesboro community we are blessed to be a part of. This Sunday, we’re taking time to highlight and emphasize just how great the community around us truly is.
We’re thankful for our city, our neighbors, and the people who serve and care for our community every day. This week, we’ll also be joined by our County Commissioner for District 19, who will share how we—as a church—can continue to be actively involved and make a difference right where we live.
Plus, every person who attends will receive a small gift for you to give to someone in our community you appreciate. It’s our way of saying thank you to those who make Murfreesboro such a great place to call home.
